The project explores alternative materials to plastic. The Agari bottle is created with agar-agar which is a jelly like substance obtained from algae. Research has shown that it takes plastic 500-1000 years to disintegrate. That means that all plastic that human kind has ever produced is still somewhere in our environment to this day. So why do we use plastic for something we use once and then throw away?           This project looks for alternative materials and the water bottle only lives as long as its purpose. Made of water and red algae, the bottle will only keep its shape if it is filled with water. As soon as it is empty it will begin to deconstruct, returning to the environment in a sustainable manner.
